Sounds like a fascinating read, and at only 96 pages, it is a rarity among what seems like the ever burgeoning size of books on the market these days (though the book is 10 years old).

David Moser's Billion Voices is highly recommended, however, and at 96 pages, as you note, it's a welcome change from some of the sprawling epics that have little more than one idea to communicate. On a more practical note, I'm moving some of my old reviews for the Mekong Review over to ChinaDiction before they disappear altogether. Enjoy the book, it hasn't aged. If you want something more up to date, I will be reviewing Kingdom of Characters by Jing Tsu over the next week or so.
